COproperty,
a Daylesford-based property company with links nationwide, is launching
an environmental assessment and certification system catering for
people buying or selling environmentally responsive houses, farms
and businesses.
The website lists such properties as biodynamic farms, a passive-solar B&B with a permaculture garden, houses and Brunswick apartments.
Properties are assessed on a 25-point system. The company's founder and managing director, Catriona Jane MacDiarmid, says it tries to be as detailed as possible.
"We look at such things as the buildings, the finishes used, landscaping, the local community and infrastructure etc and what we produce from that is a guide to the property."
She says the concept came from a realisation that general estate agents often did not understand environmental features.
