The architecturally designed self-contained lodges reflect the low environmental impact concept of building, whilst maximising the experience of living with nature.
Time spent at Aquila demonstrates how everyday comfort need not be compromised by living in an environmentally sensitive environment. Aquila's aim is to provide you with the opportunity for a renewing experience, and a time to enjoy the peace and serenity of the lodges' unique natural settings.
Aquila is set on 100 acres of Grampian's bush in the foothills of Mt Abrupt. An amazingly beautiful place, abundant in wildlife, operating with solar and wind generation, composting toilets and the latest in eco-technologies.
Aquila is recognised for its ecological significance and is fully covenanted with "Trust for Nature". It is also accredited with the ECO Certification Program.
It has recently won two coveted awards - The Power Regional Award for Hospitality and Tourism and the Glenelg Hopkins CMA Environmental Achievement Award for Organisation/Local Government/Business.
