This weekend! Feb 13th - 15th 2004, Federation Square
Melbourne
Australia's foremost sustainable living event hits the streets again with
a renewed program of eco attitude to help you get into gear for life.
Be a part of the positive change that is feeding our planet and soak up
the atmosphere, as ideas, passion and creativity come alive.
It's the only
festival of its type. In fact it is more than an event, it's a living
breathing example of sustainability in action. A place where you the guest
generate its power, turn its waste into a resource and transform thoughts
into actions. The event draws on the latest sustainable ideas and creativity
from around Australia.
Get involved,
Festival starts 10am Feb 13, Federation Square, Corner of Swanston and
Flinders St. Melbourne. On Friday 13th there is an evening
market that is open until sunset. More information on the event can be

To find out more information about EcoProperty and the services we offer
we welcome you to come and listen to Jane MacDiarmid's workshop "How
to Find my Dream Home and Passing on my Sustainable House to Eco People"
Finding the land or home you want or need can be difficult. EcoProperty
provides assessments and ratings as a guide to a property. Also, if you
want to sell your property (land, house, bush, business) and pass your
wonderful assets on to eco-hearted people, EcoProperty provides networks
and consultancies to assist you.

launch of our new Eco Find Service. A media lauch will be held on Friday
13th at 12.30pm at the media room, located in Fed Square's Management
board room, in the Crossbar building. There will be signage on site to

on-site the design and building of a suburban eco home. You are welcome

Design : Workshop 1 – Visit the site, explore ideas for an integrated
design including organic management of the land and creation of an edible
landscape, passive solar design, resource use of water and energy, and
community issues. See the initial plans. See an existing house on the
land built in 1995 and discover lessons learnt about design and living
in a more sustainable house.
Sunday 14th March 2004 1.30-5pm.
Resources and Use of Materials – Workshop 2 – How and where to
choose building materials, including the sourcing and selection of recycled
materials. Find out about alternative power supplies, retaining and recycling
water, waste systems, and the integration of the landscape and built environment.

Sunday 2 May 2004 1.30-5pm
Final Design
and Building Commencement – Workshop 3 – Decisions are now made, the
plan approved and building commenced. See reality take shape from all
the issues presented in Workshops 1 and 2. See and learn about the systems
in place around power, landscape and waste. Learn about the critical
path of building an eco home.
Sunday 29th August 2004 1.30-5pm
Almost Finished
– Workshop 4 – The house is virtually finished and the landscaping
now commencing. Find out what has changed and how different things looked
from plans to reality in the building, landscape and infrastructure –
the adjustments made, the new decisions and reasons why.
January 23, 2005 1.30-5pm
Celebration
– Workshop 5 –End the Project with a celebration in the completed
house. What would we change already, what are the little things we've
done that make a lot of difference, how does this house compare to the
first house designed and built 10 years earlier. What is the value of
the property - to the owners?, in the marketplace?
February 27, 2005 1.30-5pm.
Individual Workshops:
$38.50 per person including afternoon tea
